POW! WOW! Japan and Japan Walls is an event that features contemporary mural and street artists from around the world creating public art in Japanese cities. The events have taken place in cities such as Kobe, Osaka, Okayama, Okinawa, Shirahama, and Tokyo. Artists have displayed a variety of styles and techniques, from some who carefully plan their ideas to others who paint more freely. The events have also been organized in different formats, such as a week-long installation or a road trip where artists travel together to multiple cities.
